Florence Waruguru joined Action for Children in the year 2007. She is a cook at St. Patrick Primary School in Thika Town where AfCiC runs a school feeding programme during school days. Through the programme children in the poverty stricken school are provided with food in an aim to prevent them from dropping out of school due to hunger. During the School holidays, she assists at the Temporary Rescue Centre in cooking and other activites.
